Jackie began practicing yoga in 2002 at various gym settings. By 2006, she had fallen in love with the practice, knowing there was something deeper resonating each time she came to the mat.  In 2008, after taking a Level 1 YogaFit training, she knew she wanted more.  Soon after, she found Ann Richardson and signed up for the 200 hour training at Studio Bamboo Institute of Yoga.  She graduated in March of 2010.

It was during her training with Ann Richardson, that Jackie found Lisa Rapp, a certified Jivamukti instructor.  She was immediately intrigued by Lisa’s unique teaching style, which encompassed spirituality, devotion, chanting, and sacred teachings.  She received training from Lisa at My Yoga Spirit and graduated with 500 hours in May of 2012. At that time, she was given the Sanskrit name “Ananda”, which means bliss.

Jackie is also a massage therapist from the Cayce/Reilly School of Massotherapy. She brings her knowledge of anatomy and holistic health to her classes and enjoys deepening her students’ practice with nurturing hands-on adjustments. Savasana, the final resting pose in every yoga practice, is heavenly in Jackie’s classes, with the added touch of massage.

Jackie was born and raised in Virginia Beach, VA.  She recently moved here to Tucson, AZ with her husband Walter and their two children, Gavin and Kiera.  Jackie enjoys gardening, riding her bike, hiking, running, listening to live music and exploring Tucson with her family.

Jennifer has had a lifelong interest in Latin Dancing. She got her first taste of Latin music through her grandparents. They would play music around the house, sing in the church spanish choir, and they would always be one of the first couples on the dance floor at family functions. While growing up in Willcox, AZ Jennifer danced to Ranchera, Mariachi, and Cumbia music, to name a few. Jennifer moved to Tucson in 1997 and always kept her eyes, and ears open for new Latin music. In 2001 while working at a local restaurant and club she found the music she was meant to dance to....SALSA! She has taken some classes from some local Tucson instructors but most of her dance experience comes from the dance floor of local clubs and salsa parties. Salsa dancing even lead her to meet her husband in 2008.

Christie began her dance training at the age of 3 in her hometown of Littleton, Colorado.  Through the years Christie has trained at many prestigious studios and with many master teachers.  She has worked throughout the USA as a choreographer, teacher, performer and director.  Christie has recently moved to Tucson from Chicago, IL where she was an Adjunct Professor at Columbia College, Chicago in the Musical Theatre Department.  In addition, she taught at many different dance studios in the Chicagoland area.  Christie is new to Tucson and is an Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre at The University of Arizona.  A graduate of The University of Michigan, Christie holds a BFA Degree in Musical Theater Performance.

Nicholle began dancing at the age of three in Eugene, Oregon.  Beginning with classical ballet, she also found a love for tap and jazz and continued on to pointe.  She spent much of her childhood performing from the smallest of venues to the Eugene Hult Center of Performing Arts, where she signed the same backstage walls net to all the famous dancers that graced the stage before her.

Once her oldest daughter began taking ballet classes, Nicholle was inspired to start teaching dance and create a positive influence for her own daughters.  She taught at Hosanna Dance Studio, also in Eugene, where she developed a passion for sharing her love of dance with children.

Nicolle has a strong belief in that inspiration at even the youngest age can evoke a love of dance that will last a lifetime.  It is that desire to nurture children's dance creativity that led her to Pointe of Grace.
