Yoga Information
All yoga classes offered at Pointe of Grace are mixed level classes.
This means, no matter what your level of yoga expertise or level of flexibility.
. . you are welcome at any class.
Pointe of Grace offers a relaxing atmosphere in which you can extend to your
fullest yoga potential. The environment encourages peacefulness along with
a nonjudgmental mood.
Our classes are fitness based. What this means is that we focus more on
the fitness aspect of yoga rather than the meditation aspect. We do not
participate in chanting during our classes. This type of yoga is based on
the science of hatha yoga. It blends balance, strength, flexibility, and
power in a fitness based format.
Each class starts out with a relaxation phase followed by a warm-up phase.
We then move into our 'work' phase. This is when we do most of our
challenging poses to work our muscles to their fullest potential. Class is
closed up with a cool down phase and another relaxation phase.
Modification can be made for many of the poses. We offer modifications
for senior citizens and prenatal and postpartum women. These classes are
very customizable. You know your body best. You know your limits,
your abilities, and your strengths. All you need to do is listen to your
body, take breaks as needed, don't push yourself too hard, and don't forget to
relax! Props, such as core balls, straps, and blocks are available.
We try to mix things up every now and then. We change the format of the
class to not only provide an interesting class every time, but to also be sure
to work all the muscles. Our basic yoga class is the best class to begin
with. This class offers more detailed explanations of each pose and the
alignment to go with it. Basic yoga classes are offered the first
Wednesday of the month.
You will need to bring a yoga mat, a bottle of water, and a towel.
